The Association of Catholic Coaches and Athletes (ACCA) was founded on May 19, 2011. Barry Dean, Founder and President of the ACCA personally knew Fr. Justin Damien Dean and Coach Larry Giangrosso, and knew of their love and commitment to their Catholic Faith. Both are also sports enthusiasts and know and appreciate the importance that coaches play in the lives of the young people they serve and in the communities in which they live. As the ACCA grows and becomes more well-known more men and women will be invited to be Board Members from around the country.
There will also be a committee formed that will consist of ACCA State Representatives. As coaches attend the Masses we have celebrated at coaches convention (see our Future Masses & Events link), and as coaches from around the country join the ACCA, we’ll look to invite coaches to be state representatives. We look forward to growing the ACCA in Board and Committee Members, as well as in general membership.
